As programs like Meaningful Use, Patient Centered Medical Home, Health Information Exchange, and Accountable Care Organizations gain momentum, practices are being asked to do more with less than ever before. Automated Clinical Messaging (ACM) enables practices to meet these challenges by automating many of the high value, yet highly repetitive tasks facing practices every day.
See how It Works
Less work, better workflow
ACM uses workflow triggers, like the signing of a chart document or an updated patient list, to initiate automated workflows. This allows practices to maintain their business processes while realizing the time-saving benefits of automated communication.
One Solution, Many Modules
Process-specific modules utilize a common framework, minimizing the footprint, implementation and cost of each new use case.
Easy and Lightweight Installation
ACM can be installed on an existing server, minimizing additional hardware maintenance.
Integrated and Connected
ACM is fully integrated to the clinical systems at the heart of your organization and can be triggered by events from within and around your existing systems. ACM can then transfer data using simple document transfer protocols, like directory or socket connections, or robust networked connections to end points like providers on the Surescripts network, IHE-compliant HIEs, and Direct Project inboxes.
Common Workflows Out of the Box, Configurable Workflows at your Finger Tips
Each ACM module comes preconfigured to accomplish high-value tasks for your practice, like sending clinical visit summaries to patients or submitting updated CCDs to an HIE. Additional triggers and workflows can be created by your practice.
Automated Clinical Messaging Modules
Auto Document Distribution to Patients
The Auto Document Distribution to Patients (ADD-PT) Module automates sending clinical information to patients when a document is signed in the EMR. While this module can be configured to accomplish a variety of document distribution workflows, the module is pre-configured to enable sending Clinical Visit Summaries after a visit and sending normal lab results once reviewed by the provider.
Auto Document Distribution to Providers
The Auto Document Distribution to Providers (ADD-PR) Module automates sending clinical information to providers or other systems when a document is signed or placed on hold in the EMR. ADD-PR is designed to send documentation to other providers in the course of a referral, including primary care to specialist or specialist returning consult notes to help practices achieve Meaningful Use.
Partner Chart Access
The ACM Partner Chart Access (PCA) Module is designed to enable a medical practice with an EMR to allow referral and other business partners to request CCD chart summaries via Secure Messaging. The Partner Chart Access Module then performs an auto-reply to the requestor’s message with the desired CCD. For security purposes, each requestors email address or domain must be authorized, or “white listed”, within the module before a transaction can take place. Additionally, all chart-pull transactions are audited and can be recorded in the patient chart.
The Mass Messaging (MM) Module supports sending secure messages to a list of email addresses. The list of email addresses can be exported from a practice management or EMR system or simply maintained in a spreadsheet or database. This allows customers to create highly personalized secure messages that are automatically sent to defined patients.
Automated Clinical Messaging requires GE’s Centricity EMR or Centricity Practice Solution. The minimum system requirements are as follows:
- Processor Server‐class: dual‐core, 2.4 GHz, 64‐bit
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Hard drive: 25 GB (RAID recommended)
- OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 (64‐bit) or Windows Server 2012 or 2012 R2
- .NET Framework: .NET 4.5.1
- Document Management: GE Document Management is recommended for configuring workflows to index documents to the patient chart.
- Provider Suite API: 6.2.21, 6.4.x is needed for MU2 compliance
- Requires GE’s Centricity EMR or Centricity Practice Solution.
