E-Prescribing Will Allow for Reduced Prescription Errors and Increased Safety for Consumers.

Irvine , Calif. - December 9, 2008 - Prescription Solutions, a pharmacy benefits management (PBM) organization and a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) company, announced today that it has completed certification with Surescripts-RxHub, and has entered into an agreement for e-prescribing services. The new relationship supports Prescription Solutions' dedication to providing electronic prescribing or "e-prescribing" on behalf of its clients. The e-prescribing program engages the mail service pharmacy in addition to retail pharmacy partners.

"Our e-prescribing initiative is quickly moving forward and we've created a comprehensive e-prescribing program for all of our partners," said Ed Feaver, president of Prescription Solutions. "E-prescribing is a valuable tool to promote patient safety and encourage generic substitution, and as we continue to work closely with physicians, we look forward to their growing engagement in this very important program for our customers."

The connection to Surescripts-RxHub allows physicians who e-prescribe using certified technology applications to electronically access valuable real-time pharmacy and payer information before prescriptions are written, thereby reducing errors and increasing physician effectiveness. Before a physician or provider prepares an e-prescription, eligibility and formulary information will be provided through the certified application. With patient consent, medication history can also be provided. When the e-prescription is ready, the connection to Surescripts-RxHub allows the prescriber to electronically transmit the e-prescription to a pharmacy of
the patient's choice.

"The addition of Prescription Solutions to the Surescripts-RxHub network is another important step towards promoting the value and benefits that patients, prescribers and pharmacists gain through e-prescribing," said Tom Groom, senior vice president of business development at Surescripts-RxHub.

Electronic prescribing (e-prescribing) increases patient safety by eliminating illegible prescriptions and allowing for real-time safety checks. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has recommended that all prescriptions be written and received electronically by the year 2010.
