Surescripts will maintain a minority stake in Kryptiq and rename its enterprise services subsidiary
ARLINGTON, Va. – January 30, 2015 – Surescripts, the nation's largest health information network, has agreed to spin off CareManager™, its population health business. The new company will be run by Luis Machuca and the current Kryptiq management team and will retain the name Kryptiq. Surescripts will maintain a minority ownership interest in Kryptiq and will operate the secure messaging, e-prescribing, and portal technologies as part of its subsidiary to be renamed Surescripts Enterprise Services, Inc.
Surescripts acquired Kryptiq as a wholly owned subsidiary in 2012 to enhance its nationwide e-prescribing network by combining it with Kryptiq’s secure clinical messaging and patient portal technologies. Today, the Surescripts network connects more than 700 electronic health records (EHR) vendors, 800,000 healthcare professionals, more than 95 percent of pharmacies, and more than 1,000 hospitals.
